Since the early 19th century, Vacheron Constantin has had a long and
prestigious history producing fine repeating timepieces and at the turn
of the 20th century, they began to create exceptional complicated
wristwatches. Their first repeating pocket watch dates to 1810, and by
1940 the brand released an ultrathin minute repeating movement, the
caliber 4261. In 1992, Vacheron Constantin released a new ultrathin
repeating movement, the caliber 1755 like the present watch. At only
3.28mm in height, this movement was perfect for their Patrimony
Collection, which is a reflection of their past reinterpreted for a
contemporary 21st-century look. By adding a perpetual calendar module to
the caliber 1755, Vacheron Contantin achieved an elegant modern
complicated wristwatch like the reference 30020.
