Vacheron Constantin
The present reference 6038 in yellow gold is one of the most attractive
examples of this timeless classic of the late 1950s. It is powered by
the firm’s calibre P1019-1, stamped twice with the seal of Geneva.
The
well preserved case of masculine proportion is fitted with a screw back
and enjoys popularity thanks to its diameter over 35 mm.
The
absolutely most striking element of this watch is however the dial. Its
surface is finished in two-tones of off white and the minute marks
outside are engraved beads. The applied hour markers are either faceted
baton or (at 12, 3, 6 and 9) faceted roman numerals.
The
most remarkable and unusual feature are the gold applied stars
positioned outside the roman numerals. The dial, a work of art, is in
beautiful original condition.
