Rolex Daytona
The Daytona Cosmograph has held a long and prestigious place within the
Rolex collection of wristwatches, from pre-Daytona era watches of the
1950s like the reference 6234, to the first officially named Daytona
reference 6239, there has been a tradition of fine watch making and with
each new generation small subtle changes made to keep these timepieces
updated and modern. The reference 116523 was the first stainless steel
and yellow gold Daytona chronograph to feature Rolex’s new in-house
caliber 4130. Released in 2000, the caliber 4130, replaced the famed
Zenith El Primero caliber 4030. With fewer components than its
predecessor, the caliber 4130 revolutionized the chronograph movement
with precision, efficiency and performance.
The present watch
is a fine example of the two-tone Rolex Daytona with its stainless steel
case and engraved gold bezel with gold screw down pushers. The watch
is sporty with its white dial and golden subsidiary registers. Complete
with original guarantee and presentation box, this chronograph provides
an excellent opportunity for Daytona fans to owner a stellar watch.
