Dial case and movement signed. DIAM. 36 mm. THICKNESS 13 mm. The Ref . 6062 was produced from 1949 to 1953 with 350 examples in yellow gold 50 examples in pink gold and very few in stainless steel. This reference features a great variety of indexes; with the rarest being the diamond indexes and then the star indexes. Very few examples have black dials and only two are known with black dial and diamond indexes. Watches with black dials always had the moon featured on a black enamel sky. It is interesting to note that in Rolexs advertisement the Ref. 6062 was referred to as the COSMOGRAPH. This example has been kept in remarkable condition featuring thick lugs an almost untouched deep and crisp hallmark under the lower lug. The dial is in excellent condition with no blemishes and has the last version of the 6062 dial featuring the T Swiss T dial which were possibly mounted late as the watch remained unsold for a while or an early service dial. The movement reflects the condition of the watch with only one service mark engraved in the caseback. A simply gorgeous example of the iconic 6062.
