Richard Mille
Introduced in 2007, the RM015 comes as a form of homage and admiration
that its founder had for the famous Italian innovator and yacht builder
Fabio Perini. Of equivalent beauty as the 56m Melek, or the 88m Maltese
Falcon, Richard Mille attempted with the RM015 to create a timepiece
that evoked the feelings of smooth seas, salted decks and light breezes.
Looking closely, its design focuses its attention to the key elements
of a ship, the crown was shaped to reminisce that of a ship’s winch and
its striped tonneau case that of a ship’s deck. Through the
sapphire-crystal case back one can clearly notice the artistry and
craftsmanship Richard Mille’s and Renaud & Papi’s team have applied
in creating the movement for this timepiece. Being a skeletonised carbon
fiber base plate, the watch remains light but equally robust on the
wrist.
