Omega
On the 21st of July 1696 at 2:56 GMT, Apollo 11 astronauts Neil
Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped off the Eagle and made history to be
the first humans to ever set foot on the moon. To celebrate the 50th
anniversary of this remarkable moment of mankind, Omega launched the
present limited edition Speedmaster in 2019. With a stainless steel case
powered by the Calibre 3861, this edition of the moon watch features
the first use of the brand’s new patent-pending exclusive alloy, the 18K
Moonshine Gold. Giving the watch quite an impression with a gold bezel
contrasted against the matte grey and black dial, one can discover
captivating details throughout the face of the timepiece. Laser engraved
on the subdial at 9 o’clock is one of the most iconic imagery shot by
Neil Armstrong as Buzz Aldrin descends the ladder of the Lunar Excursion
Module, slightly above is another subtle yet clever tribute to the
mission presented with a unique hour marker at 11 o’clock.
