While the original IWC Ingenieur in 1950’s was an anti-magnetic tool watch built for use by scientists and engineers (hence the name, Ingenieur is the French world for engineer), the brand’s relationship with Mercedes Benz’s Formula One team meant the Ingenieur for the modern age was always going to be more of a sports watch.
