Known for their exquisite style in high fashion and their magnificent jewels Chanel first stepped into the world of horology in 1987 by launching the octagonal-cased Première cocktail watch. However it was in 2000 when Chanel released the J12 collection featuring an all ceramic scratch resistance case in black and white. Regarded as a major breakthrough for the firm for having successfully integrated into the world of horology the J12 was adored by many due to its unisex appeal.
