Breitling Stainless Steel massive 46 x 48mm diameter Navitimer ref 816 circa 1967. Scarce manual wind version powered by Venus calibre 178 3 registers manual wind movement. Featuring a very pleasing black original dial with silver registers, luminous markers, silver gilt print and tachometer outer ring. Original stylized hands including fluorescent orange 30 minute register hand and chrono runner hand, and black anodized bezel. Case back and bezel show only minor wear with all lettering intact and clear. Offered on your choice of sporty leather or rubber strap. A large but very wearable model. Recently serviced and offered with our 1 year warrantee of accurate time keeping and operation. NOTE: This oversized model is more frequently seen in the automatic 2 registers version ref 1806 with date at 6 o’clock. Interestingly, Breitling used the same case for the automatic and manual wind versions drilling a hole on each side of the case at 3 and 9 for the stem and crown. A plastic plug seals the opposite (unused) side hole !
