The tourbillon complication was invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet and patented on June 26th 1801. At that time the French Revolutionary calendar was implemented and expressed dates in a different fashion. To honor the original patent the present watch carries the engraving Brevet du 7 Messidor an 9 on the movement and is a great example of a modern-day tourbillon by the renowned brand.
