On the afternoon of May 18th 1947 the Swiss national soccer team was to play against England in front of 34000 spectators at the Hardturm stadium in Zurich. During this friendly game Switzerland was to clench victory on a 1-0 score. In honor of this victory Karl Rappan received this watch. Karl Rappan (1905-1996): Born in Austria he was to become the most succesfull coach of Swiss teams in history. From 1932 to 1964 he trained multiple Swiss teams including Servette Grasshopper and FC Zurich winning multiple league titles and cups. He moved on to managing the Swiss national football team in 77 international matches the most ever by any Swiss coach.
