Audemars Piguet

Limited to 125 pieces only this extravagant timepiece was made in 2000 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Audemars Piguet. The Star Wheel incorporates an intriguing complication with three rotating sapphire discs, each having hours printed on them. First seen in the 17th century, this complication was designed for Pope Alexander XII for its readability at night, with the rotating discs easily illuminated by the light of an oil lamp. Fast forwarding to modern era of watchmaking, the present watch combines this rare mechanism with the case design from the Millenary collection, a charming series with its elliptical design. As such, the present watch wears on the wrist as a true marriage between traditional watchmaking and contemporary design. The watch has been retained in excellent overall condition and is complete with all original accessories.
