A. Lange & Söhne
Paying tribute to one of the founding fathers of A. Lange & Söhne, the Richard Lange collection continues to impress with its eccentric dial design and technical advancement. The present Richard Lange Jumping hours display a very irregular regulator dial with the seconds, hours and minutes overlapping one another. Such design is inspired by a chronometer invented by Saxon watchmaker Johann Heinrich Seyffert, which offers excellent legibility under poor light. The jumping seconds move in 60-increments per minute, and on top of that, offers a hacking feature that returns to zero when the crown is pulled out. At the superimposition point of the three subsidiary dials would be a spot for a very interesting power reserve indication, changing from black to red as energy depletes from the barrel. With a black and red colour scheme, the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds is a very intuitive and makes an excellent choice for a contemporary timepiece.
