The Datograph cased in platinum was launched in 2012 at SIHH, with the
pink gold version launched at the same venue in 2015, replacing the
original Datograph from 1999. This new edition received some technical
improvements and cosmetic changes but stayed faithful to the much
celebrated original. The case was slightly increased to 41 mm from 39
mm, and the power reserve from 36 hours to 60 hours. On the dial the
roman numerals were replaced with batons and a small power indicator was
added at six o’clock, giving the watch its nickname by collectors, the
‘Up/Down’. The sapphire crystal case back allows for a clear view of
what is one of the most impressive, beautiful and immaculately finished
manual wound movements made by any brand.
